WITHERING SURFACE Seek New Label Home
July 10, 2003Denmark's WITHERING SURFACE have ended their cooperation with British label Copro Records. Copro released the band's third album, "Walking On Phantom Ice", in the fall of 2001, but has not been able to finance the band's next effort, thus allowing the group to seek out a new label home.
WITHERING SURFACE are presently negotiating with several labels regarding the release of their fourth album, which is tentatively due to be recorded in October/November at Antfarm Studio with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MNEMIC, RAUNCHY). An early 2004 release is expected.
As previously reported, WITHERING SURFACE recently enlisted the services of SACRIFICIAL drummer Lukas Meier for the group's upcoming live dates and recording sessions. In addition, the band issued a MCD, titled "Ichor", containing previously unreleased tracks from the "Walking On Phantom Ice" sessions along with the tracks from the "Forever Fragile" EP and a live track taken from their gig at the Roskilde Festival.
